Welcome!

At The New Music Review 180, we give reviews a 180: we review song by song instead of reviewing an entire album. Any song of any genre is welcome here. Please keep it clean, we want this site to be family friendly. You can send requests to thenewmusicreview180@yahoo.com Please make sure (if possible) to include the song title, artist, genre, and price. One more unique thing about our reviews is that we don't rate songs by stars, we rate them by Common Cents Value of the Hard-earned Dollar. So, in each review we will post the real price and how much the song should really be worth. Enjoy!

Hey Soul Sister - Train

 Hey Soul Sister - Train - Price-1.29 - Genre-Rock

What is it about ukulele that makes a song so amazing and catchy? I don't know the answer to that but I know that Hey Soul Sister by Train is pure genius! It has the same catchy-ness as the song I'm Yours by Jason Mraz. I think this will be a big hit the spring/summer!

This song is very fun and if you find yourself tapping your toes to the happy/bubbly beat the ''Lost Glasses'' Subaru commercial song (Before I Knew - Basia Bulat) then you'll find yourself dancing around the room whenever this song comes on.

I encourage you to check out the music video too. I enjoyed it, and I apperciate when a music video can measure up to the song.

Don't walk, run to purchase this song! You won't be dissapointed!

Common Cents Value rates this song at 1.29!

Chelsea - The Summer Set

~Chelsea by The Summer Set~ Price: $.99 ~ Genre: Indie/Alternative

You find them in the alternative section, but The Summer Set's music is incredibly infectous! My current fave is "Chelsea." This song was written in 2005 after the lead singer of the band met Chelsea Staub from Jonas. It wasn't released until this year, which kick-started their relationship.

The lyrics are cute and have yet to escape me for even a moment. Plus, the beat will definitely make you wanna dance! You might even find that you'll want more The Summer Set's music. (Trust me, it's all good!)

Common Cents Rating: $.99 Beyond worth it!

Here To There - Sonya Kitchell

Here To There ~ Sonya Kitchell ~ Genre - Pop - .99

I'll admit, when I first heard this song I wasn't crazy about it. Until I actually listened to the full song and read the lyrics... Now I can't get enough of this song! It starts out at a mediocre beat which was what made me originally skip over it, it's not what you'd expect from a Pop Song. Sonya has such a unique voice that makes this song very fun! it's the type of song that you want to get up and do a waltz-type dance around the room even if it isn't the kind of song you dance to considering there is a harmonica tone in it. Which there is a pretty neat-o harmonica solo. If you like the music that they play in the Apple commercials like 1, 2, 3, 4 by Fiest and New Soul by Yael Naim then you'll probably enjoy this song!

Common Cents Value rates this song at .89!

Before We Go Down ~ Carter Hulsey

Before We Go Down - Carter Hulsey - Genre, Alternative - Price .99
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N9hbd7jFIGw

When I was at a small Carter Hulsey concert he sang this amazing song, but before he started he explained about the background to this song. Apparently he really liked this girl, but didn't know how to tell her, so he wrote her this cute song explaining how much he loved her. Carter said she loved it and needless to say so did the whole crowd. I'm hoping you'll like it just as much!

It would be the type of song you'd put on, not expecting a whole lot from, then getting hooked. I found myself listening to this song over and over again countless times. The beat is very catchy and so is the chorus. You'll probably find yourself humming it when you least expect it. There's something about it that might even remind you of a Beatles's song in some aspects. But then again that could just be me.

If you don't already have this song on the music player of your choice, go but it! And if you find yourself liking this song by Carter, check out his other songs too!

Common Cents Value rates this song at .99!
